NeuroBase
The Real-Time Operating System for the Brain
Building the 'Stripe for Neurotech'—a B2B SaaS platform that decodes complex neural data in real-time.
The Vision
NeuroBase is designed to be the foundational software layer for the neurotech industry. Currently, the industry faces a universal data bottleneck: while sensors generate vast amounts of data, the tools to interpret it are bespoke, expensive, and require deep in-house expertise. NeuroBase solves this by providing a developer-first API that allows any company—from med-tech startups to research labs—to decode and visualize complex neural data in real-time.
The Neural Hub Finder (MVP)
Our initial proof-of-concept is a real-time visualization tool that transforms messy, 60-channel raw EEG streams into an intuitive 3D 'weather map' of the brain. For every moment in time, our algorithm identifies the single most active EEG sensor (the 'hub') and all other sensors that are simultaneously active above a threshold (the 'spokes'), visualizing the brain's focus dynamically.
Strategic Roadmap
Now: The Listener
Our current MVP, which decodes and visualizes brain states in real-time using signal processing and heuristic algorithms.
Next: The Conductor
Evolving the platform to use Machine Learning and Deep Learning to predict neural states before they happen.
Future: The Symphony
Creating a full, closed-loop platform that pairs real-time decoding with therapeutic neuromodulation to actively guide brain states.
Core Competencies & Applied Skills
This project demonstrates the application of advanced quantitative science and AI methodologies relevant to modern drug discovery and data-led enterprises.
Technical Challenges
Real-Time Data Processing
Processing high-frequency multi-channel EEG data in real-time requires efficient algorithms. We utilized MNE-Python and NumPy to handle the signal processing pipeline (Data Ingestion -> Feature Engineering -> Hub-Finder) with minimal latency.
3D Visualization Performance
Rendering a dynamic 3D brain model that updates in real-time presents performance challenges. We leveraged PyVista and VTK to create smooth, hardware-accelerated visualizations that can handle the rapid updates required for EEG data.
Outcome & Impact
We successfully built a functional 'weather radar for the mind' that provides immediate, actionable insights. This project demonstrates the capacity to turn complex biological data into clear, data-led insights, setting the stage for future AI-driven neuro-modulation and therapeutic applications.
